Testimonials

See what our patients and staff have to say about their experience with In Home GP.

  • “Finding a General Practitioner who has excellence in practice is difficult when consultation times are no longer than 10 minutes and your GP retires. This combined with serious physical incapacity meant I could not walk around a medical centre, and this is where In Home GP filled the gap.

The first consultation was for 45 minutes; Dr Kathy Wallace attended the first meeting in my home, she was competent, professional and kind. Follow up consultations used telehealth, everyone was always polite and professional. If problems arose Dr Wallace calmly talked about strategies to get back on track, there was no judgement just a firm belief in the individual.

I have no hesitation recommending this service to anyone who needs care in the home and desires a comprehensive approach from individuals who have the knowledge, attitude and skill directed towards genuine positive health outcomes.”

  • “Working with In-Home GP has been one of the most professionally stretching—and ultimately rewarding—experiences of my career as a general practitioner.

Coming from a traditional clinic setting, I was initially well outside my comfort zone. Home visits bring a level of unpredictability that you simply don’t encounter in a consulting room. You’re stepping into patients’ environments, often managing complex medical and psychosocial issues with fewer immediate resources. Many of the patients I see live with significant barriers to accessing care—severe mental illness, paraplegia or quadriplegia, profound immobility, or social circumstances that make attending a clinic nearly impossible.

Despite the mobile nature of the work, I’ve felt consistently supported. The administrative team is highly organised and responsive, ensuring that logistics, scheduling, and communication run smoothly. That level of support makes a significant difference and allows me to focus on patient care rather than operational stress.

Most importantly, the work is meaningful. Many of these patients would otherwise fall through the cracks of the healthcare system. Providing care in their own homes requires not only clinical skill, but genuine compassion and care. Being able to offer consistent, accessible support to vulnerable and often alienated individuals brings a level of professional satisfaction that is hard to replicate in other settings.”
